Starting a t-shirt company was a dream of mine for over 20 years. My childhood t-shirt collection and designs I’ve created for bands are testament to my love for a good, slightly strange, shirt.

Over the years, I’ve compiled long lists of t-shirt ideas, mostly with strange phrases that make my wife’s eyes roll. My friends were always there to help determine what was funny and what ideas should die. Many friends encouraged me to simply start making the shirts. I struggled fighting the idea that I’m not a visual artist. Finally, after 48 trips around the sun, I decided to stop letting perfect be the enemy of good, and Secret Handshake was born.

Part passion project and part side hustle to support my podcast Atypical Daydream, my hope is Secret Handshake brings a bit of absurd silliness to everyone.

After two decades in Los Angeles, you’ll now find me on the colorful streets of Berlin, where I’m making more dreams come true for my little family of four.
